Spark by Hilton Lansing

Summary: Clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, modern amenities. Nice gym and pool. No business center or printer available though. For a small, inexpensive hotel; I was impressed. The rooms are spacious and filled with tech from wireless chargers to TV’s you can control from your phone with all the streaming services available! I love that…few and fewer folks watch cable TV anymore so having access to streaming is critical. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the bathroom had all the soaps, lotion, and water pressure anyone could dream of. The breakfast was substantial and plentiful. Coffee was actually good…this is a rarity. I would recommend this hotel for anyone, worked well for me and my family on our roadtrip on I-70.

Flying out of KC airport early and stayed here as price was right. Fine accommodations. A little far from MCI took over 30 min @ 6 am on Christmas with no traffic.

I normally stay closer to Bonner Springs but for the savings in the room cost this is an excellent option. The lobby was very clean and the staff very friendly. My room was spacious and clean. Although the free breakfast is not as large as more expensive hotels this one had all I needed to start my day. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance as well as a Dollar General. The only "complaint" I would have is the only ice machine is first floor which is slightly inconvenient when you're staying on the second floor.

For the price point, five stars. Our room and the hotel in general was very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Went down in the evening and someone was cleaning the lobby carpet with an extractor, so they keep it clean. Furnishings are very basic, but clean and not lacking. Assortment of snacks and food in a cooler, microwave nearby, all very nicely presented. Good location if you are going to events at Azure Amphitheater or the KC Speedway which are both south on Hiway 7 that runs in front of the hotel. Many places to eat nearby and gas stations in easy drive. The is a Dollar General in walking distance on the same block as the hotel as of this writing. We went over and picked up some bananas, batteries and rain ponchos we needed. Helpful staff, open at 8 a.m. Keep in mind, the gas station just north is not 24 hour and the shut off the pumps at night. Be aware, no coffee set ups in the rooms, my wife's only complaint. To her, that means we are camping, but with TV and AC.

Spark is always budget friendly and basic, but it’s a great choice for a one night stay on a journey. There is no room coffee, and our room was missing a microwave, on the only stay of our cross-country journey of mostly Spark by Hilton hotels, where we wanted one. We had brought a take-out pork stew to heat up for dinner, and ended up using the refrigerator instead, intending to take it on to the next Sparks in our cooler, hoping for a microwave there. Instead we had the brilliant idea to take it down to breakfast at this Lansing Soarks, where there was a microwave. This was, as I say, brilliant. We had a table, utensils and a sunny breakfast room, and discovered a high protein soup makes a perfect morning meal. We added English muffins from the complementary breakfast. So when you pay a little over $100 for comfy beds, get a good sleep and free breakfast, not having in room coffee or microwave, and a smallish room, isn’t a big deal. And the coffee was pretty good, compared to other hotels, and available 24 hours. GPS routed us on residential streets which seemed odd after being on the Interstate, but maybe because we said no tolls.

I initially had an issue, immediately after check in. I found out the hot tub was not in working order. This was the only reason that I chose to stay here as I live locally. I spoke to Bella, and asked for a refund and checked out, I did go to the room first, and the room was perfect. They recently remodeled, everything was clean, and it had that new room smell to it, Bella was super professional about the situation and informed me that I would have to speak to the manager the next day. I went back today and spoke with the General manager Teresa. Teresa is a phenomenal manager and a huge asset to that property. She handled my concerns with professionalism and empathy. We were able to reach a resolution. Although, it didn’t meet my needs at first. I will definitely be staying at this property in the future when the hot tub is back up and running.

First stop on a drive west. Hotel is nice and clean. Room was big with good furnishings. Believe this hotel was remodeled within the last year or so and it’s still in great shape. Had a good dinner at the Mexican restaurant next door. Other than the Mexican place, only other food around was fast food. Would have like to see a little more out of the breakfast offerings but the staff was very friendly and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again.

We drove to Kansas City and I went to check in at Hilton garden prairie and had a very bad experience. They was rude . Me and my kids was sitting in my van not knowing where we was going to stay. Everywhere I called they wanted way too much for a room. Finally I found this hotel. The a who answered was super nice. Check in was super easy. We got two rooms. Super happy the was conjoined rooms, which made things super easy it was right by the door easy with so many kids. The next morning we had breakfast we went back to the room My Son freaking out screaming. The manager came in made sure everything was OK, which was amazing to me showed me that she cared enough to come and see if everything was OK .at checkout she was amazing. The manager Teresa is a blessing.. We will be going back to stay for a whole week absolutely we will be staying there. I recommend this place to anyone with kids super friendly staff. I look forward to going back. The rooms were very nice and clean. Everything was stocked big rooms. The beds were comfortable
